For Parents
Time is critical !
Soft-tissue injuries should be treated quickly. R.I.C.E. therapy is often recommended for the first 24-48 hours immediately following a soft tissue injury. R.I.C.E. stands for:
- Rest
- Ice
- Compression
- Elevation
The problem: Ice is to cold. Few children tolerate it long enough for therapy.
Frog-Skin makes cold therapy comfortable !
Frog-skin prevents skin from dropping below 43 deg F during cold therapy. This is cold enough for good therapy, cold enough to reduce pain and swelling, but without the "burn" and aching from ice alone.
Frog-Skin provides compression therapy too !
Rarely do we apply compression when we ice. Frog-Skin's soft texture and amazing ability to stretch makes combined compression therapy practical.
Come prepared!
Helmets, pads, shoes, uniforms - we make sure our kids have what they need to play. Make sure you are prepared for injuries as well. Frog-Skin wraps are small, lightweight and fit easily into a bag. Have one or two on-hand just in case.
Overuse injuries are on the rise !Due to early specialization and year-round participation, overuse injuries in young athletes are occurring earlier and more often than ever before. It is important to manage pain and inflammation routinely. This helps reduce the risk of your child developing a chronic condition. Frog-Skin wraps are perfect to use following a workout, practice or game. Get in the habit of taking care of those little aches and pains early- before they become persistent.
